The Johnston Dojo and 2015 Goals

Well after superfluously spending money on a gym membership that, like most people, I rarely use. 
I get most of my exercise on the pavement. Which is well free. 
I've decided to cancel our membership with the Gym. 
Instead we are going to build our own Dojo.

Next week we're going on vacation. Which means clean the house, yard work, and make room in the garage for our Dojo.
We're going to use half the garage for storage and the other half for the Dojo.
We're going to dig out and dust off the Bowflex, that Brent bought forever ago. Then over the next little while, add a Bowflex Max Trainer and eventually a treadmill.  Which we'll have one of Brent's buddies sniff out a good deal there. This guy can wheel and deal with one. 

So that's what is going on here! I hope everyone is having an amazing 2015 so far!

OH! And here are my goals for 2015!
1. Run 500 miles in 2015. 
So far I've clocked in 12.5 miles out 500 miles. Off to a good start.
2. Read more books.
Thanks to a dear friend's mother, I downloaded a new book. "The Invention of Wings", I hope it's good.
3. Maintain my healthyish lifestyle.
4. Blog more.
5. Continue to save money.

All achievable.

A Year in Review - 2014

Well here is my year in review blog.

2014 what a year, like most people some parts were amazing and some were pretty craptastic.

January and February - Were the last of my training for my very first half. Also we were blessed to add 4 more legs to the Johnston family. Gus adopted us. And what a ride that has been.

March 9, 2014 - Will be forever engraved in my brain...hopefully! Lol But that's when I pushed myself past what I thought my limits were. I set out to finish my first half in under 3 hours and I achieved that goal with 6 minutes to spare.
The rest of March couldn't top that runner's high I was on.

April - I PRed at the my annual Cooper River Bridge Run. I actually finished fast enough I was part of the papers. Which was my goal for this year. It was such an amazing feeling...knowing that I am not longer a prisoner of my body.

May - Getting ready to embark on this new business venture and all the crazy shenanigans that in entailed.

June - Four wonderful years of marriage Le Husband and I celebrated. And more business venture stuff.

July - December - These last 6 months have been a weird and crazy adventure!!! And I would want to do them with anyone else except Le Husband. The Business took some to get use to...naturally. But in the short 6 months we've owned the route, we already made out market value you up by month 4. We've become semi-financially smarter. We've been able to pay a ton of things off and are starting to actually save money.
But since the business became the golden goose egg, I put my running on hold until we found a new "normal", well thankfully we have found one. Last couples weeks, I've gone HAM on some half marathon training.
HAM means Hard Ass Mofo! For those who aren't in the know. ;)
But I already have 2 halfs on deck for 2015, a couple 5Ks, and a couple 10ks also.
I'm really excited to see where 2015 takes me personally with my fitness and health goals. Along with I'm excited to see 2015 tales Brent with the business. He's done so well and I'm extrem proud of him.

But as I close these final blog for 2014, I must take a moment to remember those who I lost theis year.

Thank you for the memories and the fact I was able to know you. Y'all will be forever missed.
